Why we have to thank Christ there'll be no Boyzone reunion
Sunday, 29 July 2007
Former Boyzone star Stephen Gately has finally put to rest rumours that the Irish pop band will reform this year.
For the gay singer will be too busy - playing Jesus!
Stephen has been in Sunderland to promote his new role in the hit musical Godspell, which opens in October at the city's Empire Theatre.
He said: "I'm playing Jesus. I'm moving up in the world. I've already played Joseph so I see this as a kind of step up".
But despite rumours that Boyzone had postponed their reunion tour following the news that the Spice Girls are re-forming, Stephen was keeping tight-lipped about the future of the band.
He said: "Nothing has been signed or agreed yet. If a reunion is right we will wait until the time is right to do it.
"Until then I'm going to carry on working on other projects."
